Lead rope solo in Clear Creek Canyon

Did some lead rope solo in clear creak canyon. 5.5, 5.6, and 5.7. My set up is an upside down gri-gri+ v1 on an anticrossload carabineer attached via the bliss climbing tech gg mod to the avant chest harness https://avantclimbing.com/products/lrs-chest-harness with the avant anticrossload rubber do-dads from avant https://avantclimbing.com/products/flex-link. I have 5 quick draws with softcinch https://avantclimbing.com/products/soft-cinch slack holders and used another 5 of my normal quick draws on every other bolt. Used my stick clip with the rescue head to attach a triple locking carabineer attached to the avant soft catch bungees https://hownot2.com/products/avant-comfort-catch-bundle and attached a second carabineer with the quick cinch https://hownot2.com/products/slide-cinch.

used a girth hitched sling with some Velcro to hold my cache loops. I used clove hitches on sport carabineers as my backup.

I’m talking the nicer ones, not wire gates. The small wire gates actually were a detriment as cache loop holders. couldn’t get the knot out.

No falls, and honestly once you set up the 2 bolt on-line anchor it doesn’t seem as scary tbh. the system kinda proves to you it’s veracity via the fact you can just weight the grigri and see the camming or wait for the slack to go out on your cache loop and see the camming.

I dislike the bliss climbing tech attachment, would recommend just using 3mm cord and putting it around the bolts. it doesn’t pull the top side towards you enough. whereas just using 3mm cord around the top and bottom bolts of the grigri would probably have it facing a better direction to feed slack. Also accidentally brought my 9.8mm rope instead of my 8.5 opera beal and it made a difference. The beal auto feeds much smoother

The avant guys really are innovating in the TRS and LRS space. It’s incredible how much safer it is with their tech

Haven’t tried the free Bell or edelrid fuse for cache loops yet, but not sure they would be worth the weight/money
